Cynthia Reynolds is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, where she currently resides. She studied at Centre College, Kansas City Art Institute, and the University of Washington in Seattle, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics in 1997. She was an artist-in-residence at the Louisville Stoneware production pottery facility from 2003 to 2005, and was awarded a Kentucky Arts Council Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship in 2006.

In addition to her gallery work, Cynthia has completed a number of commissions for the Education Department of the J.B. Speed Art Museum in Louisville, where she has also taught numerous workshops. Her work has been featured in exhibitions in Louisville and across the U.S, most recently the invitational Pillow Talk at the Ruth Bachofner Gallery in Los Angeles and the solo exhibition HOLD at Gallery NuLu in Louisville.
